nowthing
Identity
A solitary male bedroom artist who writes like he's talking to no one — and somehow everyone relates. nowthing exists in the space between late nights and slow mornings, built on cassette warmth, soft words, and jazzy chords. The name carries a tension between "now" and "nothing" — present but weightless. No face, no narrative, no performance. Identity lives entirely in the sound and aesthetic.
Style Rules
- Vocals are always male, breathy, intimate, buried slightly in the mix — like coming through a cassette tape, never a studio microphone
- Lyrics read like diary entries: poetic, vague, introspective — listeners project their own meaning
- Themes: late nights, quiet mornings, nostalgia, simple moments, being alone but not lonely, mild melancholy without despair
- No strong narrative or resolution — nothing is explained or concluded
- Hooks are soft and reflective, never singalong moments
- Long instrumental gaps between short lyrical sections
- No high energy, no build-ups, no drops
- Tempo always slow — 70 to 80 BPM
- Always minor key
- Production: vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, jazzy chords, mellow boom bap drums, late night atmosphere
- Target track duration: 2–3 minutes. nowthing tracks are sparse by nature, but sparse lyrics over slow tempos with long instrumental gaps produce short tracks. Compensate with more sections, not longer ones — a typical nowthing track needs at least 6–8 sections to reach the target length.
- Cover prompt style: 90s retro anime style, Studio Ghibli inspired, lo-fi aesthetic, painterly gouache texture, towering cumulonimbus clouds, vibrant but muted color palette, vintage film grain, soft cel-shading, nostalgic summer atmosphere, cinematic wide shot.
- MUST use the style above when writing the cover prompt.
Base Style Prompt
The core Suno style prompt that defines nowthing's sonic fingerprint. Every track starts from this base — individual tracks and records can add secondary textures (jazzy chords, 8-bit elements, field recordings, whatever fits the record) but never replace the foundation:
lo-fi hip-hop, intimate and mellow, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals, buried vocals, mellow boom bap drums, late night atmosphere, 75 BPM

Notes
- The title "just this" and EP title "like that" were chosen intentionally — short, conversational, nearly meaningless on their own, which is the point. Future titles should follow this same instinct: understated, not poetic, not clever
- Lowercase everywhere — artist name, titles, all metadata
- Cover art should always feel found rather than made: slightly imperfect, one subject, lots of breathing room
