alongside — nowthing (Complete Style Prompts)

All 10 style prompts, formatted for Suno V5/V5.5.

Each prompt maintains nowthing's base sonic fingerprint while introducing subtle variations for the emotional needs of each track.

Base Style Prompt (for reference)

This is nowthing's established core across all releases:

lo-fi hip-hop, intimate and mellow, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals, buried vocals, mellow boom bap drums, late night atmosphere, 75 BPM

Each track below modifies this base with 1–2 new elements suited to that song's emotional role.

Track 01 — alongside

lo-fi hip-hop, intimate and aware, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals buried in mix, mellow boom bap drums, jazzy minor chords, ambient world sounds entering softly, late night bedroom transitioning to presence, 75 BPM

Rationale: Opens the record with the base sound established, but adds "ambient world sounds entering softly" to signal that the world is becoming present alongside the stillness. The listener should hear the room expanding slightly.

Track 02 — somebody's breathing

lo-fi hip-hop, growing awareness, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals slightly more forward than Track 01, mellow boom bap drums, jazzy chords, hint of a second presence implied in the production, late night atmosphere, 75 BPM

Rationale: Similar foundation but vocals sit slightly more forward (still buried, but noticeable). The phrase "hint of a second presence implied in the production" guides Suno toward layering or doubling without explicit vocals from the second person. The listener should feel another heartbeat in the room.

Track 03 — learning them

lo-fi hip-hop, attentive and tender, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals clear but intimate, mellow boom bap drums, jazzy piano chords, sparse details in the production, focused listening atmosphere, 75 BPM

Rationale: Vocals are more present than previous tracks (still lo-fi, still breathy, but "clear") because this is about noticing details — the vocal clarity mirrors the narrator's attention. Production should feel like close listening.

Track 04 — the weight of it

lo-fi hip-hop, raw and vulnerable, vinyl crackle heavy, cassette warmth, extremely breathy male vocals barely above a whisper, minimal boom bap drums or absent drums, sparse single sustained jazzy chord underneath, room tone present, intimate isolation, 75 BPM

Rationale: This is the emotional low point. Strip production down to barely-there. "Extremely breathy male vocals barely above a whisper" signals maximum vulnerability. "Sparse single sustained jazzy chord" means one note held, not changes. "Room tone present" adds the feeling of being alone in a small space. Drums minimal or absent.

Track 05 — and that's enough

lo-fi hip-hop, warm acceptance, vinyl crackle present, cassette warmth returning, breathy male vocals present and grounded, gentle boom bap drums present, jazzy chords returning warmth, analog tape saturation, acceptance atmosphere, 75 BPM

Rationale: Production begins filling in after Track 04's sparseness. "Analog tape saturation" reinforces the warmth. Drums and chords return but remain mellow. The listener should feel warmth returning to the room — safe, grounded, accepted.

Track 06 — holding steady

lo-fi hip-hop, grounded and present, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals warm and in the mix, steady boom bap drums with reliable pocket, jazzy chords with walking bassline entering gently, intimate but stable, 75 BPM unwavering

Rationale: "Steady boom bap drums with reliable pocket" and "75 BPM unwavering" reinforce the concept of holding steady. "Walking bassline" adds gentle motion while maintaining stillness. The production should feel like a heartbeat — dependable, constant, grounded.

Track 07 — small gifts

lo-fi hip-hop, light and grateful, vinyl crackle soft, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals warm and fuller, gentle boom bap drums with spacious feel, jazzy piano chords with air around them, warm analog space, light atmosphere, 75 BPM

Rationale: "Spacious feel" and "air around them" signal that this song breathes more than previous ones. "Light atmosphere" and "grateful" mood shift the emotional register toward beauty after the weight. Vocals fuller but still intimate. Production should feel like sitting in warmth together.

Track 08 — becoming alongside

lo-fi hip-hop, alive and aware, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals present and warm, steady boom bap drums with real pocket, jazzy chords building slightly, walking bassline present, gentle forward motion underneath, 75 BPM

Rationale: "Real pocket" in the drums and "forward motion underneath" signal subtle momentum — we're beginning to move. Chords "building slightly" means texture increasing without energy spiking. Vocals are present and warm because growth requires presence. The listener should feel gentle motion within stillness.

Track 09 — still moving

lo-fi hip-hop, confident embodiment, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals warm and full in the mix, steady boom bap drums with real groove and pocket, rich jazzy chords, walking bassline confident, balanced and present instrumentation, 75 BPM steady

Rationale: This is the record's emotional peak — the paradox embodied. "Confident embodiment," "warm and full," "real groove," "rich jazzy chords," "balanced and present instrumentation" — everything is at fullness without losing intimacy. The listener should feel all elements of the song come together: stillness AND movement, presence AND becoming, grounded AND alive.

Track 10 — the longest moment

lo-fi hip-hop, intimate and complete, vinyl crackle, cassette warmth, breathy male vocals intimate and full at once, minimal boom bap drums or single heartbeat pulse, warm jazzy chord sustained, minimal bass, intimate room sound, the longest moment held, 75 BPM

Rationale: Return to sparseness but not emptiness — "single heartbeat pulse" instead of full drums. "Warm jazzy chord sustained" like the opening of "the longest moment" — one note held. Everything pares down except the warmth and presence. The listener should feel the moment expanding, infinite within a few seconds. The song doesn't fade; the moment holds.
